On Nov. 8, His Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo attended the inaugural joint convocation of the Regis St. Michael’s Faculty of Theology at St. Basil’s Church in his capacity as Chancellor of the University of St. Michael’s College.

After offering the opening prayer in Latin, Cardinal Leo joined the Very Rev. Jeffrey Burwell, SJ, Provincial of the Jesuits of Canada and Chancellor of Regis College, in presiding over the ceremony, which marked the first time St. Michael’s Faculty of Theology and Regis College have shared a convocation. In all, 33 students were awarded degrees at the ceremony, which also saw St. Michael’s award alumnus and philanthropist John Bennett conferred an honorary degree.

After the convocation ended, Cardinal Leo attended the reception held in Regis College, located on Wellesley St. at Queen’s Park, where he chatted with guests and posed for pictures with many of the graduates and their families.
