On Saturday, February 17, the Most Reverend Francis Leo, Metropolitan Archbishop of Toronto had the opportunity to visit the Felician Sisters at Holy Name of Mary Convent in Mississauga.

His Grace celebrated Mass for the Sisters and the Felician Associates in the convent’s chapel. In his homily, Archbishop Leo spoke about how the Lord draws us closer to himself during the Lenten season, and that we are called to daily conversion and to be transformed.

“Archbishop Leo recounted John 10:10 – that Jesus has come to give us life - abundant life, and we are called to live life fully now, living a life of hope and charity,” said Sr. Lynne Tramble. “He acknowledged that the charism of our foundress, Blessed Angela Truszkowska, continues through our witness as Felician Sisters through our consecrated life and gave thanks for the Sisters’ presence in the Archdiocese of Toronto.”

Following Mass, the Sisters had the opportunity to enjoy breakfast with the Archbishop.

“The Sisters were honoured that he was able to celebrate Mass for us. He is very pastoral and caring,” Sr. Lynne continued while noting how touched they were that Archbishop Leo took time to interact personally with each one of the sisters and especially with him blessing one sister who is bed-ridden.
